Salomon's roots in outdoor sports go all the way back to 1947, when the fledgling company adapted their metalworking equipment to make edges and binding for skis. Salomon's interest in adventure sports expanded into areas like snowboarding, climbing, and hiking. In 2001, Salomon introduced their first trail running shoe, kickstarting the brand's current status as a preeminent name in trail running performance footwear.
The updated trail runner silhouette of the XT-4 features a nylon mesh upper with moulded and welded abrasion-resistant TPU film. This upper construction offers water resistance and makes for easy cleaning. Salomon Advanced’s Evolved Agile Chassis Systems provides superior underfoot support for protection across any surface. The dual density EVA midsole is finished with a rugged rubber Contragrip outsole. The proprietary Quicklace system rounds out the details.
