art previous exhibition: 'The 70's Seen' . Photography by Allan Tannenbaum
Allan Tannenbaum is a photojournalist from New York City who has documented the life of the city for over forty years. Through portraits, backstage passes, and concerts, Allan’s music photography provides a cultural window into that legendary era. His work has been shown in galleries and museums in Moscow, London, New York, Paris, Tokyo, and most recently, Sydney, Australia. Here, in his first exhibition in Malibu, in addition to the selection of music scene photographs, there are also images of iconic legends Andy Warhol and Muhammad Ali. One of Tannenbaum’s very first music photos – Jimi Hendrix at Winterland – was taken in 1968. Several of the photographs in the exhibition, such as Mick Jagger performing on a flatbed truck in 1975, have never been printed or exhibited before.
